What’s Involved

Residential Roofing in the Shenandoah Valley

Whether the existing roof has reached the end of its life, has been damaged by weather, or has developed a leak you cannot trace, the starting point is the same: someone looks at it properly and tells you what is actually wrong. We give you a free estimate setting out what we would do and what it costs.

A replacement is more than the covering you can see from the road. The deck underneath, the underlayment, and the flashing at every joint, valley and penetration all decide how long the finished roof lasts. Where we find decking that has softened or delaminated, replacing it is part of the job rather than something to shingle over.

Residential Roofing Questions

Common Questions

How do I know if my roof needs replacing?

Persistent leaks, missing or curling shingles, granule loss collecting in the gutters and any visible sagging are the clear signals. If the roof is past twenty years, it is worth having assessed.

Do you replace the decking as well?

Where we find decking that is soft or deteriorated, replacing it is the right answer. Laying a new covering over a failing deck wastes the new roof.

Will a new roof match the rest of the house?

We work with you on profile and colour so the finished roof suits the property, which matters especially on older and historic-district homes.
